There is always a beginning!

Every venture in your life whatever it may be has a beginning! My venture "Kreative Musings" began when
I was a tiny girl in Logansport, Indiana many many years ago. I discovered a pencil and crayons! At school my coloring pages were the brightest, most vivid ones displayed! They were always marked by my teacher, Mrs. Bauman, as the best! Or, "what a good artist you are!" At home, I had coloring books which I devoured!

Books were another love of mine and so I began "illustrating" them as I didn't have blank paper! I laugh when I look at those books today! I knew in my little girl heart that those stories needed illustrations!

From those days to these I have become a wife (twice), a mom (3 times + the gifts that are my two stepkids), a career artist and a GRANDmom! I recently left my career of 23 years at a Midwest greeting card company to slow down and get back to MY creative self! This is my NEW journey!!

Memories Today....

I am deep in some memories today...some are pretty heavy, most are happy, quirky, lovely, and happy.  Those adjectives describe my beautiful niece Kelly Elizabeth Bingham.  Though I should not lead you to believe that that is all she was because she was much, much more than that to me and to all of us that love her!

What does that have to do with my journey as Kreative Musings?  I promised Kelly's mother, my oldest sister "Jewels" or Julie that I would develop a piece of memory jewelry for her of her daughter, Kelly who passed away last September 19th, 2009. Her passing is another post for another day.

To create memory jewelry requires one to think about the person being memorialized.  It was the memories of Kelly that brought back to me the tiny girl I thought of as my own living doll.  I was only 11 when Kelly was born!  The little girl Kelly with the curly hair that never stopped moving!

The teen Kelly that was taller than I and the adult Kelly that was a loving mommy and wonderful friend. The quirky, loveable, happy, loyal, steadfast, prankster, Godly woman that was Kelly Elizabeth Bingham.   I laughed and I cried today as I remembered her.  I miss you young lady taken from us way too soon and I look forward to seeing you again in heaven where I know you are.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. PHILLIPPIANS 4:8. (That verse perfectly describes our Kelly.)

I promise to post the pic of the finished necklace...as soon as I can get it done!
